War and Peace

I finished reading War and Peace on my Kindle last night. The last 20 chapters were excruciating to get through. Tolstoy went on and on and on, over-analyzing his take on history. In essence a disclaimer for his version of the story. Until those last 20 chapters it had been a real page turner. Just at the end I began to understand what he was saying about the way we look at history. How many elements effect how we see and judge historical characters' behavior and events.

It took a couple months to finish and I was glad to be done with it before saying good bye to 2012. I've got a nice stack of real books to look through to decide what's up next. Can't wait.
